The TuKAN service is intended for those who do not have the opportunity to use licensed electronic information resources (e-resources), databases such as Web of Science, Scopus, SpringerLINK, Science Direct, etc., on the SUA network in Nitra or through registration in databases.
If you access databases from the SUA network (plug/wifi/eduroam/VPN/RA) or are registered in databases and have created a registration with a university email address (uniag.sk), you do not need remote access.
Remote access means authorized access to e-resources for authorized users outside the SUA inetwork, for example from home. The library provides it upon request. The condition is to fill out and submit a registration form. Eligible requests are typically processed within 5 business days after submission.
After processing the request, the eligible applicant will receive detailed information, settings and login details, to the specified email address.
Login details are non-transferable! The system only requires them to be entered when attempting to access a licensed information source. Verification is required on first login. We do not recommend saving your password. After finishing work, we recommend returning the network settings to their original state and only setting the access conditions when necessary for working with databases.
Authorized users (applicants):
- SUA employees,
- SUA students in full-time and part-time programs,
- guests/visitors staying at SUA,
- registered readers of the Libary.
We recommend that applicants from SUA use their university email address.
The basic condition for registration is the possibility of verifying the applicant's data in the profile of an SUA employee/student/visitor or in the Library information system.
Conditions for remote access:
- compliance with the Rules for working in the SUA computer network,
- compliance with the Terms and Conditions of the Library use,
- compliance with the license terms of individual database providers,
- respect for intellectual property rights; remote access is intended only for searching for professional information.
We do not recommend using small devices (mobile phones/tablets) with EIZ.
