Slovenská poľnohospodárska knižnica získala trvalý prístup k vybraným titulom e-kníh z produkcie nezávislého holandského vydavateľa Wageningen Academic Publishers. Vydavateľstvo je tematicky orientované najmä na oblasť prírodných vied a poľnohospodárstva.
Kúpa bola realizovaná financiami z verejných zdrojov Fondu pre podporu umenia v rámci projektu na rok 2016 "Kniha — základ celoživotného vzdelávania".
Dostupná kolekcia 42 e-kníh (monografií, príručiek, zborníkov) je z oblasti poľnohospodárstva, potravinárstva, veterinárnej medicíny, životného prostredia a súvisiacich spoločensko-vedných disciplín. Vybrané e-knihy vyšli prevažne v rokoch 2014-2016.
Prístup k plným textom kníh je na základe platnej licenčnej zmluvy medzi poskytovateľom kolekcie a univerzitou. Z tohto dôvodu je prístup kontrolovaný IP adresami, t.j. funguje iba v rámci počítačovej siete SPU. V prípade záujmu o prácu s kolekciou mimo počítačovej siete SPU v Nitre, môžu registrovaní používatelia knižnice využiť službu vzdialeného prístupu TuKAN. Celý obsah kolekcie e-kníh (vrátane jednotlivých častí týchto dokumentov), je chránený autorskými právami. Oprávnení používatelia môžu e-knihy stiahnuť vcelku alebo po jednotlivých častiach, môžu si vytvoriť tlačenú alebo elektronickú kópiu pre osobnú potrebu.
Tituly sú voľne dostupné k stiahnutiu v priestoroch Slovenskej poľnohospodárskej univerzity za dohodnutých licenčných podmienok z webovej stránky vydavateľa.
