Update (February 27, 2021) of information on library services

Inside library premises, a proper behavior to reduce (not only the COVID-19) infection risk is required.

Information on library circulation services:

Books can be borrowed and returned in person, 8:30–15:30, workdays.

Books must be pre-ordered through the online catalogue.

If a desired item is not available via the catalogue, you may consider contacting the circulation services.

Books can be returned by anyone.

Books can be picked up by a designated surrogate after advance notice of circulation services from library reader.

Books can be delivered by a courier service. You can also get our books by the Interlibrary Loan (ILL) from a library next to you (internationally).

Reminders are suspended until further notice. Notifications of the approaching end of the loan period are sent by e-mail for information purposes only.

You can pick up the ordered books in the main building on Štúrova Street. Readers who want to borrow books and their card has expired can request an extension by e-mail to

We recommend using the bibliobox for returns. It is located by the main building of the library on Štúrova 51 behind the stairs next to the side entrance with elevator (ground floor on the right).

Registration, renewal and ordering of books is possible online, without a personal visit.

Just fill out the pre-registration form and pay the registration fee by bank transfer (students 5€, pensioners, disabled 3€, others 7€) and send the proof of payment to Registration will be completed only after receiving the document in the library.

Online services (not only) during the preventive measures:

Online catalogue — there are links to full texts of final theses, many collections and books and e-books from Flexibooks. When searching in the catalogue, notice the option "Full text" or "E-loan" in the facets on the left.

SAL bibliographic database — contains full texts of many publications, especially articles. As in the catalog, pay attention to the "Full text" option in the facets on the left when searching. If the article is not available in full-text, a digital copy can be ordered.

Digital library — contains links to online resources including free (text)books.

Virtual study room — contains 140 titles of scripts, textbooks and monographs. You can access it via remote access (TuKAN). If you do not have remote access enabled, you can request one.

Full-text databases (E-resources) — contain thousands of articles and books from various scientific fields. You can access them via remote access (TuKAN). Research service — searching for literature on a specific topic. The output of the service is a list of literature. The publications themselves are part of the results only if the library has a digital version of the searched publications.

Digital copy service — scanning parts of publications and sending copies of electronic publications on CD-ROM to registered library users. The service is not intended for scanning / sending electronic copies of entire documents.
